Goals and objectives

General Objectives:

1) To promote and protect general health and prevent disease within the educational community.
2) To diagnose the problem of obesity within the educational community in the council of Santa Maria da Feira.

Specific Objectives:

1)That by the end of the 08/09 academic year, the percentage of EB 2.3 public schools and public high schools of the council of Santa Maria da Feira joining the project be ≥ 25%;
2) That by the end of the 08/09 academic year, the percentage of physical education teachers of the schools joining the project and which cooperated in the registration of Corporal Mass Index (CMI) of students, be ≥ 50%;
3) That by the end of the 08/09 academic year, the percentage of  mathematics teachers of the schools joining the project and which cooperated in the registration of CMI of students, be ≥ 50%;
4) That by the end of the 08/09 academic year, in the schools that joined the project,the percentage of 7th and 10th grade students, who calculated their CMI,  be ≥ 50%;
5) That by the end of the 08/09 academic year, the percentage of students diagnosed as being underweight, pre-obese or obese, orientated to medical care be ≥ 90%;
6) That by the end of the 08/09 academic year, the percentage of schools joining the project with activities' plans to promote healthy food habits in the school community, be ≥ 25%;
7) That by the end of the 08/09 academic year, the percentage of schools joining the project with activities' plans for physical exercise, in the school community, be ≥ 25%.
